Healthy Black Sesame Truffles
If you love black sesame ice cream, but are looking for a healthier option, these truffles / bliss balls are the answer to all your dreams!
Made with only 5 ingredients, these tasty morsels are whipped up in a matter of minutes with the help of a food processor or high speed blender.
These are gluten free, dairy free and sugar free.
Notes:
- Don't even think of not roasting the sesame seeds!!!
- You could probably use white sesame seeds instead, but the flavour would be more "healthier halva".
Enjoy!
Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius.
Place cashews and sesame seeds on a baking tray, and roast in the oven for 10 minutes, or until the cashews are pale golden. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
Place HALF of the sesame seed (reserving the rest for rolling) and all of the remaining ingredients into a food processor. Process or pulse until the ingredients come together into a mostly homogenous, not too sticky, ball.
Divide the mixture into approximately 8 even sized pieces (or whatever size you would like), roll into balls, and roll in remaining sesame seeds to coat. Store in the fridge.
